Exciting news!

My FITNESS FOR POETS weekly poem has become
a MONTHLY letter as I shift focus to my first book– a magical realism memoir in verse about dancing away those early Art school days.

I Propose, Repose!

I Propose, Repose!

Time to give your seeds
a chance to swell,
cells to split
your molecules heated in
a last hurrah, sweltering humid
threaded with
cool…

Consider this:
DON’T work on your Art.
DON’T work on anything at all,

just lie there like a board

until you are! with absolutely
nothing to do
but

breathe
a sweet sigh of relief. Free!
from your
own expectations of
where you ought to be
by Now.

It’s guaranteed!
(as few things are)
that as soon as you
STOP

All the Time you need,
whether sweet or frittered,
will fly by!
in the form of that Thing
you’ve been
meaning to do
all this time,

but never had any.

Use it wisely!
Harvest is nigh.

(You did rest a bit, right?)
