My FITNESS FOR POETS weekly poem has become
a MONTHLY letter as I shift focus to my first book– a magical realism memoir in verse about dancing away those early Art school days.

Mortal Foil

Mortal Foil

Should the
tendency of your body
to stay at rest

begin to perplex?

No force is more
formidable against an
inconvenient recalcitrance
than to realize

your deadline!

drawn at
The End of
your time to be alive –
the mortal’s plight!
inevitable – uneditable

beautifully timed
by a secret surprise >>

the length of your life!

Considering it
will be any day (bye, now!)
breaks the laws of motion
forces mass to gain momentum
and seals your fate with
a big fat kiss (ha! thy sting)

if only you promise
to spend every single day
doing exactly

what you wish.
