metta for / metaphor

The world is
waiting to hear from you,
but first!
repeat these words softly
to your Art
with all your heart–

May you be safe.
May you exalt in good health.
May you take this chance.
Know you are loved.

And now,

imagine your Inspired Self,
the one who looks up
in shock
at the clock, at the time
gone by
getting it done,
speak this love–

May you feel this happy
delight in your Art!
Capsule this moment
for next time; in an emergency
crack it open.

And now,

imagine your Self
stuck in one spot, unable to move.
Indecisive, uninspired?
Stay right where you are to
direct this love,
all the more precisely–

You are safe in your spot.
No judge!
From this particularly
unique perspective in which
you find yourself,

watch and take note.
There is no rush!

And now,

imagine every other Artist in
the world today, your
compatriots in hot pursuit
of what we do,
and wrap us round with
this thought–

May you make Art!
May you spread yourself thick
through the day;
no matter
what you choose to do,
no matter
how obscure,

it is an integral part!
